Sculpture Repair Services

Restoring a sculpture is like walking through history and stonework is an ever-changing art.

For Aaron, the sculpture repair expert at ProStone Services, his fascination with stone has been a catalyst for inventing new and creative ways for repairing stone since the very beginning of his career.

“Once you have a background in stone work, you realize that it continues to evolve and become more impressive the deeper you dig.”

Aaron has always been in awe of stone, and it felt like a natural progression of his skillset to begin work in sculpture repair. It does not follow a specific standard or procedure. With each piece in need of repair, there is a dense history that requires its own process of evaluation.

When it comes to sculpture repair, each project is unique. It’s a constant learning process based on the technique of the hands that built it.

The only consistent aspect of the sculpture-repair process is the ascertainment of the piece’s history: who built it, how they built it, materials used, and how it has been installed. It’s essential to identify the construction process or sculpting method in order to repair the sculpture properly.

From there, ProStone Services will determine how to work with the level of degradation that the sculpture is experiencing and provide an expected timeline for the sculpture repair.

Sculpture repair is a re-creation of history. Your trusted sculpture repair experts at ProStone Services are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to bring life back to a creation frozen in time.

The Flautist - Santa Fe, NM

Located in a private sculpture garden, the base of this sculpture had absorbed water in its humid climate. This caused the stone to bloat. We created a new base before the sculptures in the garden were donated to UCLA.

Infinity – Boulder, CO

Located in a private sculpture garden, this sculpture sustained damage from the elements. To learn the history and receive advice on repair, ProStone services spoke to the original sculptor in Belgium. The sculptor was happy to find a resource in the states for other clients who may need sculpture repair.

THE BUDDHA FINGER – BOULDER, CO

A Buddha sculpture in a private garden in Boulder had lost its finger. This unique lava stone sculpture took extra attention but when the finger was reattached, no one would be able to tell it was ever missing in the first place.
